Wendigo in the Woods
This is a completely optional event that will start on Day 234 (September 15-17) and end around Day 239 (September 30 - October 3).

On Day 234 doors will open up at various points around the Science Center that lead to the outside world. There's lush forest as far as the eye can see with a gentle breeze blowing through the trees. The sun filters through the tree tops, so warm and inviting. Bird song fills the air. So much more inviting than the stuffy air and the florescent light of the endless corridors, right?
Why not step outside? Just for a second? You don't have long to decide. The door slams closed and disappears as though it was never there. If you stayed inside, congratulations, you're still safe and sound within the Science Center - as safe as you can be, at least. However, if you stepped outside, well tough. You're stuck outside with no way back inside the building.
Your first instinct is to warn others not to step through the doors? Sorry. The devices are dead.
For the remainder of the event the communication devices of those outside the Science Center are completely useless.
Things couldn't get much worse... right? Wrong. Just listen. You hear that? The voice of someone you know, calling from the distance.
Who exactly the character hears is entirely up to the player - it could be a loved one from home, a friend they've made while at Cape Kore, someone else. The only stipulation is that it's the voice of the one person they're most likely to follow into the woods. After all, the Machine is playing a part in these shenanigans, and it knows it's residents too well.
Following the voice will only make things so much worse for your character. Unfortunately for them the voice isn't who they believe it to be, but it's the mimicry of a Wendigo.

Wendigos were once human. But after being forced to consume human flesh in order to survive they gained superhuman qualities - speed, strength, immortality; but over the years their humanity was stripped away until all that is left is a monster, always hungry, always craving human flesh.
They are incredible hunters both by day and night.
"It's a damn-near-perfect hunter. It's smarter than you." - "This thing is a good hunter in the day, but an unbelievable hunter at night."
Bad news for your muse, right? Well yes and no. See, Wendigos like to store their food for later - and most of the time they like to store it alive. So, once you're muse is attacked by the beast there is a small (optional) chance they could be instantly killed, but it's more likely they'll be dragged off to the Wendigo's lair - which in this case just happens to be a cave deep within the woods.

The good news is that a Wendigo can be killed by fire. Surely your muse remembered to pack a lighter, right? No? Better hope someone comes to their rescue! However, if the Wendigo hasn't been killed by Day 239 it will simply disappear, as will the cave, and a path will appear to guide your character back to the Science Center.
Good Luck!

QUESTIONS?

Meja will have the good sense not to go outside. I say good sense, but it'll be mostly paranoia. Good ol' paranoia, what would a person do without it? She'll want to go, but her hesitation will win the day. So, instead, she'll just worry about those who disappear, and be available to do things in the Center.
Fortescue, on the other hand, has already been "outside" and had a fairly pleasant time. So she won't be so immediately against the idea and will step out for a stroll. I'm so nice to her. Ahem. She can either do some rescuing or need a rescue herself, depending on what folks want/need. Technically she can light herself on fire at will, but she doesn't know anything about wendigo and how they react to that. So someone can enlighten her, or she'll discover it via a not-so-happy accident. If she does get dragged away, the mournful cries of her cat will be a nice beacon for "wendigo lair." Unless said wendigo kills her cat, in which case... well. Very interesting things will happen. Let's call that the Very Bad Ending.

On the plus side, he does know how to take a Wendigo down, so having him in the lair with you might be a pretty good thing if, you know, you don't want to die...
Meg: On the fence at the moment whether or not I'll be throwing her in.
Donna: I was going to have her sit this one out but I think the lure of the forest will be too much for her. She's wanted to go outside for awhile. So yep. Donna + monster = ???

Tony Stark isn't much for the outdoors, but he might venture outside out of curiosity and get locked out. He'll likely hear Happy or Pepper calling for his help. Either that, or he'll try to help someone caught by the Wendigo.
Does anyone want anything to do with him?

However, Kira will be going outside! It'll be Scott's voice that makes her venture further.

Azazel might be useful to anyone captured, since he's pyrokinetic, among other things. He'd need a good reason to get involved, so good luck to anyone captured trying to convince him to help.
