Hey all you lovelies! I hope you're all doing well and that you didn't forget about this little corner of the world!

Obviously, we're a musebox now and as such there is no activity check nor any demands on you at all to make posts. It's been quite a few months since our last threads but that doesn't mean we're dead - not if you don't want us to be.

So, consider this one of those pesky checking in type posts to let us know if you're still around and still interested. Feel free to use the form below or just comment however you like!

Also, for those of you who are interested in sticking around... what kind of things would you like to see more of? More mod-run events? More player-run events? More slice of life? Let us know in the comments.

Wendigo in the Woods

This is a completely optional event that will start on Day 234 (September 15-17) and end around Day 239 (September 30 - October 3).

On Day 234 doors will open up at various points around the Science Center that lead to the outside world. There's lush forest as far as the eye can see with a gentle breeze blowing through the trees. The sun filters through the tree tops, so warm and inviting. Bird song fills the air. So much more inviting than the stuffy air and the florescent light of the endless corridors, right?

Why not step outside? Just for a second? You don't have long to decide. The door slams closed and disappears as though it was never there. If you stayed inside, congratulations, you're still safe and sound within the Science Center - as safe as you can be, at least. However, if you stepped outside, well tough. You're stuck outside with no way back inside the building.

Your first instinct is to warn others not to step through the doors? Sorry. The devices are dead.

For the remainder of the event the communication devices of those outside the Science Center are completely useless.

Things couldn't get much worse... right? Wrong. Just listen. You hear that? The voice of someone you know, calling from the distance.

Who exactly the character hears is entirely up to the player - it could be a loved one from home, a friend they've made while at Cape Kore, someone else. The only stipulation is that it's the voice of the one person they're most likely to follow into the woods. After all, the Machine is playing a part in these shenanigans, and it knows it's residents too well.

Following the voice will only make things so much worse for your character. Unfortunately for them the voice isn't who they believe it to be, but it's the mimicry of a Wendigo.

Wendigos were once human. But after being forced to consume human flesh in order to survive they gained superhuman qualities - speed, strength, immortality; but over the years their humanity was stripped away until all that is left is a monster, always hungry, always craving human flesh.

They are incredible hunters both by day and night.

"It's a damn-near-perfect hunter. It's smarter than you." - "This thing is a good hunter in the day, but an unbelievable hunter at night."

Bad news for your muse, right? Well yes and no. See, Wendigos like to store their food for later - and most of the time they like to store it alive. So, once you're muse is attacked by the beast there is a small (optional) chance they could be instantly killed, but it's more likely they'll be dragged off to the Wendigo's lair - which in this case just happens to be a cave deep within the woods.

The good news is that a Wendigo can be killed by fire. Surely your muse remembered to pack a lighter, right? No? Better hope someone comes to their rescue! However, if the Wendigo hasn't been killed by Day 239 it will simply disappear, as will the cave, and a path will appear to guide your character back to the Science Center.

Anyhow meet Tyler Warrens everyone! Or Tai if you'd like. He's a giant teddy bear really who will only be ~~pretty damn~~ a little stressed given he's being yanked from his world in the middle of a supernatural show down he'd gotten tossed into. Oh. That and he's technically a descendant of dragons and he's still trying to wrap his head around that one and everything else.

Someone might want to keep a fire extinguisher handy...

This is just a note that, as of today, Day 220, the In the Stone event has started! On Day 224 (starting the 16th), Leo Valdez and Anita Blake will find the troublesome artifact responsible for changing things up and throwing monsters at everyone. Everyone will have them to thank for this thing's end!

Either I can post something to start that off, or you guys can take off and run with it. c:

Event ⇝ In the Stone

Have you ever wanted to get lost in a dim stone maze filled with monsters? No? Welp.

TL;DR Starting August 4th (Day 220) and ending August 18th, the Center will be transformed into a stone Dwarven labyrinth. Monsters from the Nine Realms, and from the worlds of characters, will be released into the chaos. Either the Center will end things, or characters will take the Center back. Either way, the Center will be back to "normal" on the 19th, the morning of Day 225, with everyone back in their rooms and pleasantly alive (or undead, as a few cases might be). Characters are allowed to keep one thing from this event: an object found in a room, an outfit, or a weapon. It will be beside them when they wake up.

Use this post to plot among yourselves, and ask me any questions you'd like in the thread below. Happy ~~dying~~ exploring!

Hi Cape Kore! I'm Cat and I'm bringing my OC named Rhyleigh to this lovely little place.

And I apologize in advance for anything he says. Rhyleigh isn't exactly the friendliest and generally seems to live to antagonize people or getting into fist fights. He's also a street artist back home and goes by the name Judgement. He makes no promises NOT to graffiti a few walls in the center if that's allowed and the mun here is prepared for any punishment he'd receive by doing so.

Uh, that's pretty much it about hi- OH YEAH. He's also a Dad. He probably is the least likely person to be a Dad but he has a (adopted) daughter named Sojourner back home. Which means he's really not happy about any of this.

This is Steph, and I've played here previously with ol' Sammy Winchester (and Lexie Grey a million years ago). I come to you once again with the most glittery of mind reading vampires.

Oh yes.

Edward Cullen.

He's taken from right at the beginning of Twilight/Midnight Sun, so he's not quite as Bella meebly as he ends up being. He is, however, self hating and arrogant, with a dash of mind reading powers! A couple of things:

FEEL FREE TO FOURTH WALL HIM. I am all about it, and it'll blow his mind. This girl with the tasty blood is going to be his wife someday? What? Clearly there's a joke in there somewhere.

Also, Edward can READ MINDS, which makes him know things. Now, generally, he's too polite to comment on what he can hear, and the only things he can hear are what people are thinking about at that moment - so he won't know every single deet on someone, but he'll know what they're thinking. If you're not into this, let me know and I'll just work around it. Communicating with him over a network wouldn't give him access to a mind, just fyi.

And yes, he does indeed sparkle, and it horrifies him. Feel free to mock. I can be added on plurk @ violentwords. Excited to get started!

Hey folks! I'm Christine, and I played here for the better part of a year as Jo Harvelle, along with Anita Blake from the series of the same name and Max Guevara from Dark Angel. I actually threw my hat back into the ring a couple of weeks ago, but wasn't able to come in and start playing until I was back from vacation, which I now am. <3 This time around I've brought you Benny Lafitte, ex-vampirate and blood bank barfly.

He's coming in from after the events of "Taxi Driver" which means he's just been through a rather rough visit to Purgatory, so he's a little disoriented. On the plus side, as vampires go, he's just a little bit domestic and can make gumbo that'll knock you off your feet. He may drink blood, but he doesn't drink people, so as long as he's able to get his hands on something red, everyone's necks are safe. ~~Probably.~~

It feels good to be back, and I'm looking forward to playing with you all again! I may bring Anita or Max back in the future, but I'm trying hard not to jump the gun on anything. >.>

This is probably going to come as no surprise anyone who didn't realize I was still here but at least for now, I'm going to have to drop. It's not a lose of muse, it's really just being fed up with the canon. As much as I love the characters I just...can't hold any interest in the canon right now. That might change and if so, I'll come back! Or I might come back with different characters. But for now, I'm bowing out - I loved this game and I want to stay but I haven't been able to do Raphael's tags for months so...it's time to go.

Anyone who would notice is free to just realize he's not been around for a while, has been keeping to himself and they aren't sure when he left or whatever works best for all of you.

Hello, Kore, I'm Ray bringing in the one, the only Leo Valdez! He's from the Heroes of Olympus saga of the Percy Jackson series, and he is coming from mid-House of Hades, so I will try to be careful about spoilers, if anyone's not read it that plans to. Really all you need to know is that he's a son of Hephaestus with his father's Blessing of fire, meaning he can generate flames and is immune to fire in general. He doesn't always have full control of it, though, so try not to surprise him too much!

what up kore! i'm marie (who used to play here a million billion years back with anna milton and a handful others) and i bring you one natasha romanoff of the marvel cinematic universe variety! for those of you who are canon blind, she's an ex-KGB spy-turned-SHIELD agent who has to contend with a bunch of actual superpowered superheros, and still manages to hold her own.
